NEET Success Story Under Investigation as Biwal Family Members Arrested in Alleged Paper Leak Racket

The Biwal family, once celebrated for producing five NEET qualifiers, has come under investigation after arrests in an alleged paper leak racket. The Central Bureau of Investigation is probing links between exam scores, admissions, and an organized network, raising concerns over integrity in medical entrance examinations.

In a dramatic turn of events that has shaken India’s medical entrance examination system, members of the Biwal family, once celebrated for their extraordinary success in NEET, have been arrested in connection with an alleged paper leak scandal. The arrests have cast a shadow over what was earlier hailed as a rare academic achievement, now under intense scrutiny by investigating agencies.

In 2025, five members of the Biwal family cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, an examination attempted by more than 2 million candidates annually, securing admissions to reputed government medical colleges. The achievement briefly gained widespread attention on social media, with congratulatory messages flooding online platforms, while coaching institutes amplified the family’s success through promotional campaigns.

Dinesh Biwal, in a Facebook post dated November 6, 2025, expressed pride over the achievement, stating that five children from the family had been selected for government medical colleges for MBBS studies and extended wishes for their bright future.

However, nearly a year later, Dinesh Biwal has been arrested alongside his brother Mangilal and nephew Vikas in connection with the NEET paper leak investigation, which is now alleged to have exposed an organized network influencing medical admissions.

Investigators are examining whether the family’s exceptional results were genuine or facilitated through an alleged examination leak network. Authorities have noted that several of the successful candidates had only average academic performance in school examinations.

Vikas, son of Mangilal, secured admission at Sawai Madhopur Medical College. He had scored 63 percent in grade 10 and 55 percent in grade 12. In NEET 2024, he scored 270 out of 720, while his average score across 46 coaching institute tests in Sikar stood at 384. Despite this, he achieved the 85.11 percentile in NEET 2025.

Pragati, daughter of Mangilal, admitted to Dausa Medical College, had scored 69 percent in grade 10 and 91 percent in grade 12. She scored 332 in NEET 2024 and averaged around 302 in coaching tests, yet secured 89.08 percentile in NEET 2025.

Gunjan, daughter of Dinesh Biwal, who secured admission at Government Medical College in Varanasi, had scored 86 percent in grade 10 and 70 percent in grade 12. She scored 355 in NEET 2024, with coaching test scores ranging between 320 and 342.

Sania, daughter of Ghanshyam, another brother in the Biwal family, secured admission at a medical college in Mumbai. She had scored 63 percent in grade 10 and 89 percent in grade 12. She scored 360 in NEET 2024, with coaching test scores ranging between 341 and 361. In NEET 2025, she secured a 94.07 percentile.

Palak, another daughter of Ghanshyam, secured admission at a government medical college in Jaipur. She had scored 93 percent in grade 10 and 89 percent in grade 12. She scored 512 in NEET 2024, with coaching test averages ranging between 515 and 550, and achieved a 98.61 percentile in NEET 2025.

While no official confirmation of a paper leak was reported during NEET 2025, multiple claims circulated on social media, all of which were dismissed by the National Testing Agency and cyber authorities as false and misleading.

In a separate and developing investigation into the NEET examination paper leak case, which reportedly led to the cancellation of results from the May 3 exam and rescheduling of the test for June 21, the Central Bureau of Investigation has uncovered alleged links between individuals involved in the racket.

According to investigators, in April, Shubham Khairnar from Nashik informed supplier Yash Yadav from Pune that a copy of the examination paper was required. The deal for the leaked paper was reportedly finalized by April 29, after which candidates were allegedly targeted and lured into the scheme.

Yash Yadav is said to have passed the paper to the Biwal family after Mangilal contacted Shubham Khairnar regarding his son Vikas.

On Thursday, Central Bureau of Investigation teams conducted raids at the residences of Mangilal and Dinesh Biwal. The two brothers, along with Vikas, were arrested and placed in seven-day custody for further interrogation. Authorities also searched a nearby farmhouse, inspected luxury vehicles on the premises, and seized several documents believed to be linked to the alleged racket.

The Central Bureau of Investigation is also searching for Dinesh Biwal’s son, Rishi, who is a NEET aspirant this year and is currently absconding.

The case has now escalated into a wider investigation into alleged systemic malpractice within one of India’s most competitive medical entrance examinations, raising serious questions about the integrity of the admissions process.
